COINCARDS GENERAL INFORMATION

Many gift cards listed on Coincards.com come at no additional fees.

If a gift card does have an additional fee, you will see this marked as a convenience fee on each product. Cards with a convenience fee are more difficult to obtain and usually are purchased by Coincards at face value. We continue to work with the merchants in all our supported regions to bring the best values possible.

Coincards does not add any fees to our exchange rates or hide any extra fees in our services.

We do not recommend sending funds directly from an exchange.

All payments must be made within 30 minutes of order creation. Many exchanges take hours, if not days, to send funds on withdrawal requests. This can cause funds to be frozen in our system.

Exchanges also typically “skim” fees from the amount being sent. This can often cause issues with underpayments. Underpaid orders will typically show as canceled in our system and will not be processed.

We recommend moving funds from an exchange to a mobile wallet, or hardware wallet before transacting with Coincards.com

Payment Pending – Your order has been placed, however payment has not been acknowledged. Our system instantly picks up most payments as soon as they are made. If you have paid for your order, and its “Payment Pending” please contact support.

Here are three common reasons for your order not being acknowledged properly:

  1. The network fee was too low – The network fee is a fee required to broadcast your transaction to the network. If too low, the network may ignore your transaction.
  2. Underpaid – If you have not sent enough funds, your invoice may be underpaid and your invoice will show as still requiring a payment.
  3. Exchange/Custodial Wallet Users – If you sent your payment from an exchange, they will likely not send the payment to use within the allotted time frame. Most exchanges also take a fee from the users payment, causing underpaid issues. Please do not use an exchange or custodial wallet to send funds to Coincards.ca

Awaiting Confirmations – Your order has been received and we are awaiting the needed confirmations to process the order. We require a minimum of 2 Confirmations on the blockchain before processing orders. Lightning Network Payments do not require confirmations and are confirmed instantly.

Confirmations Complete – Your order has now achieved the needed confirmation threshold. If your card is “Instant Delivery”, this status usually only lasts up to 60 seconds as your order is processing. If your card is manually fulfilled, this status can remain for upto several hours as our staff works to fulfill the items in your order. If your order remains in this status for over 8 hours, please open a support ticket as it might require manual intervention.

Paid Late – Your payment was sent after the 30-minute timer expired. This was likely because your payment came from an exchange or a third party custodial wallet. Your payment needs to be manually approved or canceled. If canceled, you will be contacted requesting a refund address at your cost. To avoid a “Paid Late” status, refrain from using exchanges or custodial wallets for purchases.

Processed – Your order has been completed and all vendors have confirmed that your gift cards are en route. If your order was shipped from Coincards.ca offices, this status indicates your order has now shipped. No further action is required.

Failed – Your payment has failed. Your invoice may have been underpaid. Please contact Coincards.ca for a refund.

Canceled – Your payment was not received or your payment was received underpaid and your order has been canceled.

There are several reasons why a payment might not register as completed:

  • Your wallet has underpaid the original amount – In this case, our checkout screen should inform you of any additional amounts which need to be paid as long as the initial payment is picked up. Please send remaining funds to the original BTC address.
  • Your payment has a low transaction fee – If your payment does not have a sufficient fee attached, your payment might take longer than allowed to complete on the network and might even be considered invalid. If you send a low fee, and your transaction is not confirmed within 6 hours it will be refunded.
  • You are sending a payment from an exchange/coinbase – Exchanges often delay payments in order to batch them, This causes issues with invoices becoming invalid. If you send a transaction from an exchange, and your transaction is not confirmed within 6 hours it will be refunded.

Sometimes you realize you have made a mistake and purchased the wrong card, you no longer want the card purchased, or your transaction expired before getting a single confirmation. How do you get a refund?

*Important* – Refunds can only be issued if an order is either Awaiting Confirmations or is Confirmations completed. No refunds are issued on Processed Orders under ANY circumstances. This includes ALL orders processed fully or partially under our “Quick Delivery” fulfillment system.

  • If you would like a refund, please reply to your order email stating your reason for a refund, eg: You have ordered an Apple.ca card instead of iTunes.
  • Emailing us will open a ticket in our customer support backend. Our customer service agent will put your order on hold and possibly contact you asking for your refund wallet address.
  • Your order will be refunded to your wallet address provided.
  • At the time of Refund, Coincards will deduct any bitcoin transaction fees at the customer’s expense which Coincards incurs to refund the payment. Coincards will use the “Standard” fee unless otherwise specified by the client.
Ex: If your payment was for 0.01 BTC, and the fee to send you 0.01 BTC is 0.001 BTC, you will only receive 0.009 BTC to your wallet.
